1. What we collect

When you use Watchobots, we collect:

  • Account information — your name and email address, provided via Google OAuth or email sign-up.
  • Monitored URLs — the web pages you choose to track.
  • Change data — diffs, AI-generated summaries, and metadata about changes detected on pages you monitor.
  • Billing information — payment and subscription data processed by our payment provider. We do not store card details.
  • Usage data — basic logs for debugging and improving the service.

2. How we use it

We use your data to:

  • Run the monitoring service and deliver change alerts to you.
  • Send digest emails (daily or weekly) summarising detected changes.
  • Process subscription payments and manage your plan.
  • Improve and debug the product.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-party services

To operate the Service, we use trusted third-party providers for authentication, database hosting, web crawling, AI processing, payments, and email delivery. Each operates under its own privacy policy. URLs you monitor are processed by our crawling infrastructure to detect changes. Change content is processed by our AI layer to generate summaries. No personally identifiable information is included in these operations.

4. Data retention

Change history is retained based on your plan:

  • Free — 30 days
  • Starter — 90 days
  • Pro — 1 year

When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

5. Cookies

We use cookies only for authentication (session management). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Your rights

You can:

  • Export your change data as CSV from the Changes page.
  • Delete individual monitors and their history from the dashboard.
  • Request full account deletion via our contact form.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Database access is protected by row-level security policies. Credentials are never exposed to the client.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
